The greatness of a man is not in what he has but in the cause he lives for, and the price he is willing to pay in order to achieve that cause. Most people I have come across all over the world have the desire to become great in life. This desire has been in the heart of many for years, but, a close look at those who eventually make it to greatness reveals they did not just desire and wish to be great, but they discovered vital principles of life, and added action to their desire. Pursuit is the proof of desire. If you pay the price you will get the prize! To become great and successful in life there are five irrefutable facts of life that one must realize and live by.
NO ONE IS CREATED TO BE A FAILURE
It does not really matter what state or level you are in now, or what the opinion of people are concerning you, you were not created to be a failure. You may have failed an exam before, you may have failed in business, you may have failed in relationship e.t.c. no matter the area of life you have recorded a failure; it still does not make you a failure.
There is a different between a failure as an EVENT and failure as a PERSON. It is wrong to define yourself with the event of your life instead of the seed of your destiny.
Your present state is not your final status, so even if you presently don’t look like a success, it’s a matter of time before the real you shows up. God did not have failure in mind when he was creating you. If he did, we won’t have the privilege of to be man but animals.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS LUCK
Many people would have become great and successful except for the fact that instead of paying the price for success and greatness, they are waiting for a lucky day. Nobody succeeds by accident and nobody can become great by luck. I shared this fact once in one of our seminars and someone asked about people that gamble and lottery winners. Anyone you see that is great and successful today has become what they are not by luck or by accident but by consciously or unconsciously activating and putting to work the laws and principles of success. Lottery winners are not lucky people but people who get the result of an unconscious activation of life laws e.g.
- They believe in the lottery – Faith.
- They put in money – Seed, Investment.
- They waited – Patience.
- They continued – persistence e.t.c.
I am not an advocate for lottery but I just want you to see the unconscious reason for the result.
NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU FAIL WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSSION
Have you noticed how many people always have someone to blame for their state? If you want to become great, you must rise above excuses, and take responsibilities for your failures. Excuses have universally been known as the trademarks of failures. Instead of always looking for someone to blame, take charge of your life. No one can make you feel inferior without your permission, and no one can make you fail without your permission. To believe that someone has the power to determine the outcome of your life is too much power to give a man. Wake up and wise up!
YOUR DESIRE TO SUCCEED IS A PROOF THAT YOU CAN SUCCEED
It is an incorrect assumption that everybody desires to succeed, because not everyone really has that desire to succeed. Some people have a mental disorder that I call Small’s Syndrome. The way they celebrate mediocrity, pride themselves in their ignorance, and build monument around their little achievements reveals that their dreams are too small. Listen to some people talk, perceive the way they think and you will realize this truth. To therefore have a desire to succeed and be great is a proof that you can be, because your heart has already “birth” the seed of desire which will eventually fuel you into accomplishing great things.
If you can desire it, it’s a proof that you can achieve it.
SUCCESS AND GREATNESS IS NOT FOR THOSE WHO WISH FOR IT BUT FOR THOSE WHO WORK FOR IT.
You must have heard it said that “if wishes were horses, beggars will ride”. Life is not all about wishful thinking. An object will remain stagnant until a force is applied, so also will every life remain in the same state until something is done. If you don’t work it, it won’t work. Whatever will be will not be unless you make it be. Wishing without working equals to a fantasy and a mirage. No matter how powerful a man’s dream is, he has to wake up and work to see it become a reality.
To become great or successful in life, you must be willing to pay the price. If you don’t pay the price, you don’t get the result because nothing just happens.
The five facts of life that we have examined are irrefutable. Anyone who really wants to matter in life must accept these facts and work with them.
To change your altitude, you need to change your mental attitude
When I discovered this facts of life I began to allow them guide my thinking and my life; then I saw a change. I was once in the plane at an oversea airport when these facts were being “birth” within me. I looked out of the window to see massive beautiful structures around the tarmac. Few minutes after takeoff I looked down and saw that the buildings that looked big while we were on ground now looked small because our altitude has changed. If you change your altitude, many things that look big will now become small because you are on a new pedestal. In order to change your altitude, you need to change your mental attitude and that is what a realization of the five irrefutable facts will do. It will help change your mental attitude and perception and the end product is a life of greatness. Make that change now
